Model Driven Architecture Integrates Business & Technology Architectures

Commercial and governmental organizations have, for decades, been struggling with the connection between their business goals and initiatives and the technologies that realize those goals and initiatives.  Applying an architectural approach to the business, to the system of systems and to the technology implementations makes both the enterprise more agile and efficient using technologies that are more agile and effective.  Better results and reduced costs can be a reality.  What Model Driven Architecture (MDA) does is provide for the connections between these layers and viewpoints so that technology solutions are a reflection of enterprise needs.

A crucial enabler today is the ability to collaborate and to share – the age of the isolated enterprise or agency is over.  Architectures, such as SOA, allow us to express and share how we can work with others, what our services are and what information we have and require.
