SoaML profile for MagicDraw and Enterprise Architect support | SoaML Cartridge

Hi,

I have just recently discovered the ModelPro project and I am finding it interesting. However, I have a couple of questions concerning modelling tools:

  1. Can the SoaML profile provided by this project be imported directly into MagicDraw, or must I buy the Cameo SOA+ plugin to create SoaML models in the tool?
  2. How "finished" is the script converting Enterprise Architect xmi to ecore uml? I tried it on some EA models and it's not working consistently. Sometimes getting strange results and other times it's not working. Does this script only work on SoaML models or also on normal UML2 models and/or other profiles. I am currently using EA version 7.5.

Thanks.

Best regards,

Vegard

It's only natural that we

It's only natural that we have doubts when we start using a new tools and it can be quite frustrating when you are not expecting to get the maximum out of them!! The ModelPro is an engine which is very popular these days because of it's many advantages! Confusion whether the SoaML profile can be directly imported to MagicDraw and how the “finished” the script is to convert Enterprise Architect xmi to ecore uml - if both queries are clarified, I am sure that it will help many to use ModelPro more effectly!! blue lock

Vegard, You can use the SoaML

Vegard,

You can use the SoaML profile in MagicDraw for free. What you don't get is the customizations that accelerate SoaML modeling. SOA+ creates lots of pieces for you. I think using the profile directly is a good way to start because once you download the SOA+ evaluation copy, you'll realize how much easier it is to model.

I'll have to forward your second question to someone else.
